Citizens across Louisiana came together on Saturday, November 15, 2008 to rally for fairness and equality for LGBT people and their families. Hundreds of people gathered in Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Shreveport as part of a nationwide day of protest. This grassroots movement began in response to the passage of California's Proposition 8, which eliminated the right of same-sex couples to marry, and culminated in peaceful demonstrations in cities across America and the world.
